If you adore the outdoors, you'll like Chiles Pond. The peak of Burnt Mountain can be seen from Chiles Pond, and splendid hiking is available along the Turk Branch Trail. Chiles Pond gets a typical amount of yearly rain; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.       Hiking is a popular thing to do around Chiles Pond; Sawmill Ridge Trail is a splendid local trail, and a tremendous nearby hotel is Wintergreen Resort. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not take a look at Alumni Lake in close proximity to Chiles Pond; Chiles Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Misty Mountain Camp Resort is a great local campground. All through the warmest time of the year, highs generally are                  in the 80's at Chiles Pond. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are mostly in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Chiles Pond. Tool Gap is close to Chiles Pond and is a great spot; if you need a place to stay Quality Inn Waynesboro is a delightful choice. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Chiles Pond you will meet lots of folks from nearby Charlottesville, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Hardware River - North Fork. So many exciting things to do here at Chiles Pond, too tremendous to be true. If you come at the right time of year, Hardware River - South Fork offers some good whitewater; Wintergreen has good slopes and a friendly staff.
