This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Pedlar River, and it's a nice idea to take a look at Buck Branch. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. Holcomb Rock Dam is wonderful and it's near Chilarna Lake; there are great sites to discover along the Piney Ridge Trail. At Chilarna Lake through the months of summer highs are       in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Chilarna Lake descend into the 20's. Best Western Of Lynchburg is a great spot to get some rest. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Chilarna Lake has to offer, you can camp at Wildwood Campground. Float down the rapids of James River in a kayak. There's so much to do                  here at Chilarna Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Shady Mountain Campground is a great place for that. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express LYNCHBURG is a great place to spend a night or two; there are other places here than Chilarna Lake, for example Big Island Reservoir. At Chilarna Lake you can see Locke Mountain, and if you're a golfer then a good close by course is Ivy Hill Golf Club. That right there is heaps already, but it carries on; Chilarna Lake has it all. Going for a hike on the Cashaw Creek Trail is always a pleasant adventure. Lakes? Sure, Colemans Fall Reservoir is close by.
