There's some flowing water close by, Keckley Run is a stream you can explore while you're here; Rainbow Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. Good hiking is available along the Old Romney Grade; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Cedar Creek. Crystal Dam is charming and it's near Cherokee Lake. The wonderful people of Winchester like to hang out nearby, and if you came to camp       Candy Hill Campground is a magnificent site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Cherokee Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cove Campgrounds is a wonderful site for that, and a good close by hotel is Courtyard by Marriott Winchester. Cherokee Lake is a good location of typical rain; July is the wettest month with most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Clowser Gap is right                  next door to Cherokee Lake and is certainly a good place to stop by, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Cherokee Lake; Signal Knob Trail is a wonderful local trail. Through the months of summer highs here at Cherokee Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows throughout the winter for Cherokee Lake tend to be in the 10's. But wait, there's more to do next to Cherokee Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Little Passage Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Back Creek - Potomac Tributary offers some good whitewater.
