For years I have been fishing the reservoir, the boat ramp is terrible at the twin bridges, and not enough parking at the dam. Several other fisherman including myself would be more than happy to fix the ramp at the bridges free of charge to the city or county if permission is granted. There is much erosion near the edge of the ramp. Backing your boat in the water is dangerous, trying not to go near the eroded bank. Please call me with a response . THANKS. It's always fun to stop by Charlottesville Reservoir. Dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn ,Inn & Suites, and a stunning lake like Birdwood Lake is a brilliant place to visit. Why not camp at Triple C Camp since you're here at Charlottesville Reservoir, and a golf course nearby is Meadow Creek Golf Course at Pen Park. This lake is so wonderful. From a precipitation point of view Charlottesville Reservoir is a relatively common place; August is the wettest month with most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to see at Upper Ragged Mountain Dam Number One near Charlottesville Reservoir; if you came for an overnight stay Charlottesville Koa Kampground is a wonderful location to camp. you then we recommend Hardware River - South Fork, and since you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Charlottesville.
This lake is so wonderful. Boars Head Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest, and close by you
stumble on the Turk Branch Trail which is a fine hiking trail. During the warmest time of the year, highs commonly are in the 80's at Charlottesville Reservoir; the overnight is slightly cooler of course, typically in the 60's. The
cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Charlottesville Reservoir are in the 20's. Man, is there loads of exciting stuff to do near Charlottesville Reservoir. There are some perfect whitewater
spots on Hardware River - North Fork, and there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Falls Trail.
