If you are in this part of Virginia make sure to pay a visit to Cave Mountain Lake. All through the warm months, highs typically are in the 80's at Cave Mountain Lake with overnight lows in the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Cave Mountain Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. Just can't get enough of Cave Mountain Lake. Cave Mountain Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are other spots here than Cave Mountain Lake, for example Bedford Reservoir, and after a long day outdoors Red Carpet Inn Lexington is a nice location to spend a night or two. | |

This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Jennings Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and if you wish for a little side tour, try Bear Hollow. But wait, there's more to do next to Cave Mountain Lake. There is a
wonderful hiking trail in the neighborhood of Cave Mountain Lake called the Hunting Creek Trail, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Back Run. All the water falling down from the sky makes Cave Mountain Lake a wet location;
most of the rain falls throughout July while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. On a wonderful day at Cave Mountain Lake you can take a hike along the Wildcat Trail; close by you stumble on the Gunter Ridge
Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. Here at Cave Mountain Lake you can spot Cave Mountain; Bedford Lake is a wonderful lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Smith Tract Campground, and people from Lynchburg
love to come here. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend North Creek; the scenery at Cave Mountain Dam is beautiful.

River left is a large boulder. if you padle up the eddy of this rock and then murge into the falls you can catch a great wave.
