Do stop by Cave Mountain Lake while you're in this part of Virginia. Cave Mountain Lake gets a large amount of water; July is the month that gets the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. There are some great whitewater spots on Jennings Creek, and if you need a place to stay Natural Bridge Hotel is a great choice.

| | at Cave Mountain Lake there are plenty of people from Lynchburg, and there's always Cave Mountain Dam to explore close to Cave Mountain Lake. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do close to Cave Mountain Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit North Creek, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone At Natural Bridge is a tremendous local campground.

adventure along the Hunting Creek Trail. Some nearby water includes Back Run, and Bear Hollow is close by, and is a magnificent location. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Smith Tract Campground is a splendid
site to camp, and do take a hike on the Wildcat Trail.
Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Cave Mountain Lake; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 40's
while the cold winter nights at Cave Mountain Lake are in the 20's. Man, is there a lot of enjoyable stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The summit of Cave Mountain can be observed from Cave Mountain Lake; since you're here you can take a hike along the Gunter Ridge Trail.
