At Carvins Cove Reservoir you always meet someone from Roanoke, and Days Inn Roanoke Airport is a great site to get some rest. Nearby lakes? Sure, Carvin Cove Reservoir is right next door to Carvins Cove Reservoir; hey, Angell Branch is a fine local stream. Stay the night at Grindstone - George Washington National Forest; if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Fenwick Nature Trail. That right there is a heap already, but it carries on; Carvins Cove Reservoir has it all. There's whitewater on Catawba Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
