Stay the night at Paradise Lake Campground. The warmest time of the year at Camp Hydaway Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Throughout the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's with temperatures at Camp Hydaway Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Motel - Lynchburg is       a brilliant place to get some rest, and Camp Hydaway Lake is a good place to camp, Wildwood Campground is a good place. Much rain falls at Camp Hydaway Lake; the month with most of the rain is July, and January meanwhile is the driest month. So much entertaining stuff to do at Camp Hydaway Lake, so little time. The peak of Candler Mountain can be seen from Camp Hydaway Lake, and for you golfers we recommend close by Cedar Hills Golf Course. The scenery at                  Camp Hydaway Lake Dam in close proximity to Camp Hydaway Lake is gorgeous, and if you come at the right time of year, Harris Creek offers some good whitewater. There are other sites here than Camp Hydaway Lake, for example Pine Lake; lots of people from Lynchburg come here.
