Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Hughes River and Hazel River. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Burrus Lake has to offer, you can camp at Cedar Mountain Campground. All the water falling down from the sky makes Burrus Lake a wet site; the month with most of the rain is May; January meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.       There are some perfect whitewater spots on Robinson River; a good close by hotel is Red Carpet Inn Orange. At Burrus Lake all through the warm months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Burrus Lake. Burrus Dam has brilliant water scenery and it's near Burrus Lake, and you can stay the night at Lake Anna State Park.
