For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the                  40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Breckinridge Reservoir temperatures plunge to the 20's. Get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Quantico Creek - South Branch, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Chopawamsic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Breckinridge Dam has good water scenery and it's in the vicinity of Breckinridge Reservoir, and lots of people from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria come here. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Quantico Creek near Breckinridge Reservoir, and do take a hike on the South Valley Trail.
