Stoney Creek Resort is a glorious local campground, and do take a hike on the Shillings Trail. You can run the rapids of Middle River right next door to Boy Scout Lake, and the Trimbles Mill Trail offers hiking at its best. Lakes are       great; Nders Pond is a lake that's right next door to Boy Scout Lake, and there's whitewater on Jennings Branch for all you adrenaline kick people. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Walnut Hills Campground while you're here at Boy Scout Lake, and there's some attention-grabbing stuff to make out at Camp Shenandoah Dam in the neighborhood of Boy Scout Lake. The annual rainfall here at Boy Scout Lake is about average; through July this area sees the most                  rain; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Through the summer here at Boy Scout Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are generally in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Boy Scout Lake descend into the 10's.
