Do go to Nders Pond in close proximity to Boy Scout Lake, it's a lovely lake, and float down the rapids of Jennings Branch in a kayak. High temperatures at Boy Scout Lake through the long summer days are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Boy Scout Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Walnut Hills Campground while                  you're here at Boy Scout Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Middle River offers some great whitewater. There is a nice hiking trail in close proximity to Boy Scout Lake called the Trimbles Mill Trail, and during your trip here you'll meet some people from Staunton-Waynesboro for sure. You definitely should like Boy Scout Lake. Going for a hike on the Shillings Trail is always a brilliant adventure; great water scenery is available at Camp Shenandoah Dam in the vicinity of Boy Scout Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
