If you are traveling by, why not stop by Bowmans Pond. This place, the Blue Ridge Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Float down the rapids of Bottom Creek in a kayak, and why not take a refreshing hike along the North Mountain Trail. Bowmans Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Beartree - George Washington National Forest is a good local campground, and if you need a location to stay Quality Inn Tanglewood is a magnificent choice. | | lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Bowmans Pond; Curry Creek Trail is a splendid local trail.
Not far from Bowmans Pond, you'll hit upon Melody Lake which is a wonderful lake, and Bowmans Dam is pretty. Bowmans Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; during the month of October you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. This lake is so wonderful. A perfect close by hotel is Sleep Inn Tanglewood, and obviously, all our national parks are delightful spots to stop by and Booker T Washington
National Monument is no exception. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of the water close by flows, like White Oak Creek, and a fine place to camp here at Bowmans Pond is Grindstone - George
Washington National Forest. At Bowmans Pond through the summer highs are in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Bowmans Pond.
The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
