Lakes are perfect; Lonesome Gulch Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Bowies Pond; close by you stumble on the Coon Trail which is a fine hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful location for whitewater paddling next to Bowies Pond is North Anna River; Bowies Dam is a picturesque spot, positively worth checking out. If you came for an overnight stay Hidden Acres Family Campground is a good spot to camp, and dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Thornburg. This lake is so wonderful. Pond is a lake around here, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Gracik Trail. High temperatures at Bowies Pond during the long summer days are in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Bowies Pond.
