Bishops Lake gets a good deal of water; the month with most of the rain is July; January on the other hand is the driest. During the days of summer,       highs frequently are in the 80's at Bishops Lake. Through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. Highs all through the wintertime are generally in the 40's while Bishops Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's. So many fun things right next door to Bishops Lake, absolutely extraordinary. There are some nice whitewater spots on Rivanna River - North Fork, and a great site to camp here at Bishops Lake is Shenandoah Hills                  Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the South River Falls Trail is always a good adventure; Bishops Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Heavenly Acres Campground is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Courtyard Charlottesville North is a magnificent place to get some rest, and don't miss out on a trip to Shenandoah National Park if you're here. You'll hit upon a picturesque lake called Smiths Lake near Bishops Lake, and the nice people of Charlottesville like to hang out close by. Near Bishops Lake you come across the Pocosin Trail which is a good hiking trail, and you don’t have to go far from Bishops Lake to distinguish the water at Bishops Dam.
