The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Wintergreen, and there are splendid locations to discover along the Sawmill Ridge Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Waynesboro North 340 Campground is a great location to camp, and Glass Hollow is a great location to stop by. From a precipitation point of view Baldwin Pond is a pretty typical place; the month with most of the rain is August, and       February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Swannanoa Country Club, and Misty Mountain Camp Resort is a good campground nearby. Good hiking is available along the Turk Branch Trail, and a perfect site for whitewater paddling is Stoney Creek. If you're going to Baldwin Pond from Staunton-Waynesboro, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Baldwin Pond without first going for a hike along                  the Turk Mountain Trail; you can take a little trip to Baldwin Dam if you're here at Baldwin Pond. If you need a location to stay Quality Inn Waynesboro is a magnificent choice, and Back Creek - South River Tributary is a tremendous whitewater spot nearby. Summertime highs at Baldwin Pond regularly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Baldwin Pond through the wintertime commonly fall into the 10's.
