August this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Back Creek - South River Tributary,
and you can go for a hike on the Sawmill Ridge Trail. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There's tremendous hiking along the Wildcat Ridge Trail, and Baker Springs Basin is pleasant enough to
spend more than a day at, Kennedy Fields Campgrounds is a pleasant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful site to visit in the neighborhood of Baker Springs Basin is Jones Hollow, and during your spree here you'll
meet some people from Staunton-Waynesboro for sure. Having a delightful time in the Blue Ridge Mountains is painless. Don't leave Baker Springs Basin without first going for a hike along the Turk Mountain Trail, and Stoney Creek
has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Copelands Tetons is clearly visible from Baker Springs Basin, and good skiing awaits you at Wintergreen.
