This lake is one of the great places here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Stay the night at Laurel Fork Campground,       and if you're here at Back Creek Lake it's a great idea to check out Wet Flats. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Back Creek Lake; Pine Mountain Trail is a delightful local trail. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at Back Creek Lake get into the 80's while night lows are mostly in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's while Back Creek Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime                  are in the 20's. If you need a location to stay Inn at Norton is a magnificent choice, and Valley Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. While you're here at Back Creek Lake, you could also take a look at wonderful Rimrock Lake; you can run the rapids of Powell River. This lake is so wonderful. Back Creek Lake is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Cane Patch Campground is a good spot to camp nearby, and a fine place for whitewater paddling is Big Stony - Mountain Fork. Getting to Buckeye Branch from Back Creek Lake is simple, and a glorious place to stop at nearby is Beech Hollow.
