An exciting thing to check out in the vicinity of Accotink Lake is Accotink Dam, and glorious hiking is available along the Gold Mine Trail. For you golfers we recommend close by Pinecrest Golf Course, and a tour to Fort Washington Park is recommended. Having a nice time at Accotink Lake is uncomplicated. There are some delightful whitewater spots on Pohick Creek,       and swing by Calamo Branch it's a wonderful spot to stop at. So much enjoyable stuff close to Accotink Lake, simply amazing. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Accotink Lake; Upland Trail is a fine local trail, and during your visit here you'll meet some folks from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria for sure. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Accotink Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lake Fairfax Park, and if you get bored of Accotink                  Lake you could also go to nearby Huntsman Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Red Roof Inn Washington Dc Southwest - Springfield is a fine site to spend a night or two, and you can stay the night at Christopher Run Campground. Summertime highs at Accotink Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Accotink Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. From a rain point of view Accotink Lake is a reasonably normal place; the month with most of the rain is May while January is ordinarily the driest month. If you come at the right time of year, Accotink Creek offers some nice whitewater; Lake Accotink is a nearby lake that you could stop at.
