While you're here at Abel Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Washington-Arlington-Alexandria; Super       Value Inn is a pleasant location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Abel Lake has to offer, you can camp at Fredericksburg Koa Kampground; let's not forget Long Branch which is a stream that you may stumble upon during your stay. Get soaked paddling on Aquia Creek, and hiking along the Chopawamsic Trail is perfect fun. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Budget Host Inn and Suites                  is a delightful spot to spend a night or two, and going for a hike along the High Meadows Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. You're possibly hooked on lakes, Henderson Lake is one of those close by. During the summer at Abel Lake highs are regularly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Abel Lake. Abel Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February.
