In Virginia there are many beautiful lakes, Abel Lake is one of them. Good hiking is available along the Chopawamsic Trail, and you can run the rapids of Rappahannock River. Camping at Abel Lake is pleasant fun, Aquia Pines Campground is a pleasant local campground, and a wonderful close by hotel is Americas Best Inns-Fredericksburg.

| | 60's. Highs during the wintertime are typically in the 40's with temperatures at Abel Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. The High Meadows Trail offers hiking at its best; a pleasant place for whitewater paddling is Aquia Creek. Abel Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.

golf course nearby, and Abel Lake is a good spot to camp, Fredericksburg Koa Kampground is a good spot. All the outdoors exciting things near Abel Lake will keep you coming back again and again. Potomac Creek Number One Dam is a place
that is close to Abel Lake; after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Fredericksburg-North,Va is a great place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Long Branch is a striking stream that is worth stopping at, and hiking
is a popular thing to do around Abel Lake; South Valley Trail is a perfect local trail.
