Wooley Lakes is located in the Uinta Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Wooley Lakes; Icy Hill Dugway is a great local trail, and Spirit Lake Campground is a tremendous local campground. Wooley Lakes is pretty dried up mostly; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Uinta

| | Mountains. Saucer Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and whitewater paddling is great on Uinta River. That right there is a lot of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Uinta Mountains has it all. The Shale Dugway offers hiking at its best; if you need a place to stay Best Western Inn is a glorious choice. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Wooley Lakes reach the 80's. throughout the wintertime are in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Wooley Lakes plunge into the 0's. Having a good time at Wooley Lakes is uncomplicated. Why not camp at Paradise Campground
since you're here at Wooley Lakes; a lake nearby is Sand Lake. Whiterocks Lake Dam is worth taking a look at since you're here, and there's good hiking along the Dry Fork Trail.

Little Elk Lake
 | That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that.... |
Chepeta Lake
 | Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |
Beaver Lake
