  Upper Carrol Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Swift Creek is a glorious local campground. East Timothy Dam is a place that is right next door to Upper Carrol Lake. Lakes are such serene locations, why not pop by Lower Red Castle Lake in close proximity to Upper Carrol Lake; a trip to Ashley National Forest rejuvenates the soul. Nearby there is a tremendous 2-mile-long grade II whitewater stretch, the Swift Creek to Reservoir sector of
    Yellowstone River. It could be said that this stretch of Yellowstone River is a place for beginner whitewater boating. Of course, whitewater boating is fun but perilous; check current conditions ahead of going.
