This lake is so wonderful. Highline Trail Head Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and Hayden Pass is another wonderful place to stop at close by. A delightful lake like Bud Lake next to Tadpole Lake is a great location to stop at; close by you come across the Lofty Lake Trail which is a nice hiking trail. So many | |

This lake is located in
the wonderful Uinta Mountains. Summertime highs at Tadpole Lake typically tend to be in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while Tadpole Lake night
low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 10's. You'll stumble on a charming lake called Butterfly Lake near Tadpole Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Skinner Cutoff Trail.

Highline Trail
 | The U.S. Forrest Service last attention to this trail was in 1994/1995 and the trail markings in many places is all but non-existent. Portions of the trail---particularly in the meadows areas have been overgrown and rock cairn markers, where they do exist, are often overgrown and difficult to find. Do not attempt this trail without detailed terrain maps and GPS equipment and the ability to use both. It would also be a good idea to carry a satellite phone (rentals are available) as there is no cell phone signal anywhere along the route from the Mirror Lake trailhead on the West all the way to the Chepeta lake trailhead on the East... |

LaMarla Lake
| Lamarla Lake received it's name from my mother, Margaret Gurr Hamblin, her sister LaVon Gurr Hansen and LaVar Davies,(nephew of my dad Lyman Duane Hamblin Jr.) They were camping and fishing in the Uinta Mountains. While hiking they came upon the beautiful little lake. They decided to give it a name. They took LA from LaVar, MAR from Margaret, and LA from LaVon, forming the name LAMARLA. They posted the name by the lake. I grew up hearing this story. My mother Margaret passed away over twenty years ago. LaVon is still alive and lives with her husband, Omar in Springville, UT. LaVar is also living and resides in St. George UT. Both are in their eighties. As a child my favorite horse was named Lamarla.... |
