There are splendid places to discover along the Limber Pine Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Steam Mill Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lewis M Turner Campground. You definitely have to love the Wasatch Range. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Crescent Lake, and  
   Mount Gog is clearly visible from Steam Mill Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Wasatch Range.
For the period of the warm days of summer at Steam Mill Lake highs are typically in the 90's, and the overnight is somewhat colder of course, typically in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are generally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Steam Mill Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Steam Mill Lake
 
               that you need to camp here for a while, Red Banks Campground is a wonderful location for that, and the snow is glorious at Beaver Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to come across some great folks from Logan here; a great close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LOGAN.
Man, is there loads of cool things to do in the Wasatch Range. Go for a hike on the High Line Trail; Blacksmith Fork is a delightful whitewater spot nearby. Going for a hike on the Bloomington Lake Trail is always a delightful adventure. Lakes are glorious; White Pine Lake is a lake that's in the vicinity of Steam Mill Lake. Steam Mill Lake is regularly a relatively waterless place; of all the months in a year April is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
A good spot for whitewater paddling close to Steam Mill Lake is Logan River, and if you need a spot to stay Crystal Inn Logan is a delightful choice.

Bloomington Lake Trail

...is up Bloomington Canyon on the West Side of the Bear Lake Valley. The canyon road is accessed off of Highway 89 in the community of Bloomington. It is approximately 11 miles to the top of the canyon and parking area. The road is dirt and gravel and suitable for most passenger cars. It is a short trail to the lake where you will be rewarded with a beautiful high mountain lake with high surrounding cliffs.
There are many trails the lead off from the canyon and connect to other surrounding canyons. One of the more notable trails is the Highline Trail. This is an approximate 60 mile trail that runs north and south along the ridge line of the mountains. The trail can be accessed at many point including the top of Bloomington Canyon. At the parking area the road continues a bit futher west and the road turns into a trail that leads up to the ridge. The Limber Pine trail is more of a nature walk than a hike. It's good for kids and those seeking an easy, short trail. Educational posting about flora, etc. are included around this loop trail. It's fun, too, even if you are a serious hiker. I think I could complete the loop in 15 minutes, but one posting I saw said 45 minutes. Walk it and find out. Easy access right off the road....
