     Smiths Fork Pass Lake is a location that is relatively waterless mostly; throughout September this area sees the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Smiths Fork Pass Lake is a beautiful lake in the Uinta Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the High Line Trail; Lower Red Castle Lake is a brilliant lake close by. Going for a hike along the Fish Creek National Recreation Trail will let you absorb
 
   the natural beauty of this area, and if you came for an overnight stay Trail Head Campground is a glorious place to camp. Summertime highs at Smiths Fork Pass Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Smiths Fork Pass Lake.
While you're here at Smiths Fork Pass Lake you will meet lots of folks from close by Evanston,
 
               and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Blacks Fork - West Fork. All year is a nice time in the Uinta Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. You get a delightful sight of Mount Powell from Smiths Fork Pass Lake, and China Meadows Campground is a glorious local campground. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Uinta Mountains. Smiths Fork Pass is a good place to stop by close by. Lakes? Sure, East Red Castle Lake is close at hand.

Fished this lake in late July this year. Mainly caught 8-9 inch tiger trout, along with some small Brookies, and a few rainbows up to 12 inches. Alot of fish not much size....

Nice lake, tough hike, and windy. Fished in late July, fishing was fair, but the size of the fish were between 14-19 inches. Wind was really blowing the day I fished here....

Great little lake, no signs of visitors, Fishing was ok. fresh worms seem to work best. This is one of those places you go to be alone. Very peaceful. This is probably my favorite place to go! It seldom flows since most water is diverted over to the Wasatch front from the Upper Stillwater Dam (it has to spill to be runnable.) Climatologically speaking, March is actually the month of our highest precipitation (which falls as snow, building the pack which then melts in May/June.) Most people find this section of river not nearly as rewarding as other runs in the state....
