Shale Lake is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is so wonderful. Do check out Kermsuh Lake near Shale Lake, it's a picturesque lake, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Skinner Cutoff Trail. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Uinta Mountains. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Duchesne River, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Highline Trail.

| | Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; overnight lows during the winter for Shale Lake tend to be in the 10's. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Shale Lake. A good site to camp here at Shale Lake is Butterfly Campground, and the East Fork Pinto Lake Trail is a great hiking trail close by. Camping at Highline | |

Trail Head Campground is always a nice experience; you'll stumble on a scenic lake called McPheters Lake.

Inn, and the vista of picturesque Mount Agassiz is great. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rock Creek, and a magnificent place like Middle Basin here at Shale Lake is too brilliant to miss. Shale Lake is
a beautiful lake in the Uinta Mountains.
Around Shale Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; throughout the month of February you get the most snow around here while June is usually the driest month.
