Get your heart pumping on the tremendous whitewater of Fremont River, and there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Stair Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent location like Bowery Flat here at Scout Lake is too good to miss, and on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Aquarius Trail. After a long day outdoors Best Western Capitol Reef Resort is a magnificent place to spend a night or two; Behanin Creek       is right next door to Scout Lake and is always a delight to visit. At Scout Lake you don’t see much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. High temperatures at Scout Lake during the months of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Scout Lake are                  in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Why not visit Oak Creek Dam since you're here, and Scout Lake is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Oak Creek Campground is a perfect place to camp nearby. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Scout Lake has to offer, you can camp at Pleasant Creek Campground, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Indian Trail. Scout Lake truly is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise.
