This lake is one of the great places here in the Uinta Mountains. Camping at Spirit Lake Campground is always a pleasant experience. Lakes? Sure, Sand Lake is nearby. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! Saucer Lake rocks! Saucer Lake is right by the Shale Dugway, and Best Western Inn is a magnificent site to get some rest.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Saucer Lake; Dry Fork Trail is a magnificent local trail; get yourself into a kayak

and hit Uinta River. Saucer Lake is a location that is reasonably dried up typically; the month with most of the rain is May, and February on the other hand is the driest. All the outdoors entertaining things in the Uinta Mountains will keep you coming back many times. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Icy Hill Dugway, and camping is available at Paradise Campground.
Summertime highs at Saucer Lake usually tend to be in the 80's, and all through summer

nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Saucer Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Saucer Lake, for example Wooley Lakes, and why not pop by Whiterocks Lake Dam while you're here. Yeah, come up here to the Uinta Mountains for a magnificent time.

MORE STUFF NEARBY:

Chepeta Lake
Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake.  Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next.  The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since.  Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot....

Little Elk Lake
That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that....

Beaver Lake
19 miles away
Nice bows. Much less traveled than Whitney, next door. The real fishin' is 2 miles away though....

Craig Lake
19 miles away
Craig lake was named by my dad in honor of his deceased son when he was employed by the Utah fish and game in about 1960....The man who named Craig lake is Max North....
