     The beauty of Red Lake attracts many people from all around. You just have to fancy Red Lake. A wonderful location to camp here at Red Lake is Brown Lake Campground. The Uinta Highline Trail is a magnificent hiking trail next to Red Lake; on a delightful day you acquire a brilliant view of Leidy Peak from Red Lake. Red Lake is one of the lakes here in the Uinta Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is brilliant here at Red Lake, you can
 
   go for a hike along the Dry Fork Trail, and during your visit here you'll meet some folks from Vernal for sure. Looking for something in the neighborhood of Red Lake? Tepee Lakes is close by, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Icy Hill Dugway. And that's not all you can do here in the Uinta Mountains. You're most likely addicted to lakes, Hacking Lake is one of those close by; camping is available at Deep Creek Campground.

               a quite arid place; most of the rain falls through May, and the driest of the months is February. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Red Lake with night lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Red Lake during the winter typically dip into the 0's.

Little Elk Lake
That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that....

Chepeta Lake

Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake.  Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next.  The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since.  Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot....
