    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Utah you can check out Pine Valley Reservoir. Dry Fork is a stream that you may stumble upon while here, and nearby you find the Gardner Peak Trail which is a fine hiking trail. High temperatures at Pine Valley Reservoir all through the long summer days are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. During the winter highs are mostly in the 40's while Pine Valley Reservoir nighttime low temperatures  
   during the winter are in the 10's. Lower Pines Campground is a great local campground, and not far from Pine Valley Reservoir you'll find Further Water which is a wonderful lake.
Pine Valley Reservoir gets very little rainfall; during March this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is June. Going for a hike on the Browns Point Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can explore Pine Valley
 
               Reservoir Dam. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Juniper Park Campground is a perfect campground nearby, and there are tremendous sites to look at along the Point Trail.
If you need a location to stay Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, St. George, UT is a good choice. Jodes Flat is a wonderful spot any time of year, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites WASHINGTON-NORTH ST. GEORGE. This lake is so wonderful. Gardner Peak is clearly visible from Pine Valley Reservoir, and Middle Fork Water Canyon is a wonderful site to visit.
This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Grass Valley Reservoir, and during your tour here you'll meet some folks from St. George for sure.

Ivins Reservoir

As of May 2009, water level is high.  Water is very clean with minimal pollution.  Visitor numbers are rising!...As of June, 2007, the water level has dropped significantly due to irrigation, evaporation, and insufficient rainfall.......d Highway 91, Ivins Reservoir is a picturesque site adjacent to the Ivins Kayenta subdivision. Its water comprises one-tenth of a mile of Ivins' 10.3 square miles. and the good news is the drought is over; the waters have returned!
Ivins Reservoir is framed by a magnificent backdrop of red sandstone cliffs that reflect on the water. Bordered on the north by the Shivwitz reservation, a sign designates Paiute property.
Desert home for an harmonious winged assortment of ducks, Coots, Mallards, and a lone Blue Heron, once, we even saw seen a gaggle of Seagulls that had flown in by way of the gulf stream. That was an amazing sight, for Ivins is several hundred miles from the Pacific or Salt Lake City.
Some Kayenta retirees, whom I've met on early morning strolls, have kindly shared their friendship and some interesting birding tidbits.
