A perfect nearby hotel is Best Western Shaheen Motel; if you come at the right time of year, Salina Creek offers some fine whitewater. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Olsen Slough temperatures are frequently in the 90's, and during the night it cools down  
   to the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows at Olsen Slough during the wintertime typically descend into the 0's.
