Snowbasin: A Sun Valley Resort is the essence of rustic chic and has fast become Utah's most talked about winter sports resort. Our European guests are telling us, ''It feels like home!'' Cultural diversity has arrived and our guests are enjoying the sun soaked slopes, panoramic views, rocky outcrops and the Needles Ridge sculpted by cirques with the breathtaking Needles Spires. Welcoming the world in 2002, Snowbasin successfully hosted six events, including the exciting Downhills. The awards did not stop then as magazine readers have listed Snowbasin #1 for lifts, #2 for food & #3 in guest services. Fabulous day lodges overwhelm guests when they come in from skiing & snowboarding over 3200 acres of the Utah's ''Greatest Snow on Earth.'' Acquaint yourself with the allure of Snowbasin's relaxed, uncrowded niche as the legend lives on!
If you seek a big resort atmosphere with a small resort ambience, if you want the most value for your vacation or if you just want to have your ''best day ever'', come to Snowbasin!...

Powder Mountain
11 miles away

With 5,500 acres of skiable terrain, Powder Mountain is one of North America's largest ski areas. This is the place if you want to make first tracks. Even on the busiest day, you may only find 1 skier per 2 acres.
Powder Mountain relies solely on Mother Nature for snow and she generously delivers 500 inches annually. We believe natural snow is best and the readers of SKI agree. They consistently rate us high for snow and value.
About half of Powder Mountain is a traditional lift served resort with an abundance of beautifully groomed cruisers. The rest of the resort is left untouched for powder hounds. Take your pick of the 1,200 acres served by Powder Country shuttle, 800 acres accessed by a short ride on Lightning Ridge snowcat or the 1,000 acres reserved for the Snowcat Powder Safari.
The staff at Powder Mountain shares your passion for winter sports and gladly goes above and beyond to make your visit special. The resort's focus is on the slopes and on delivering an extraordinary experience for each guest. ...

Deer Valley
29 miles away
...RK CITY, UTAH (Winter, 2008/2009) ? While some ski resorts strive to be ?bigger,? Deer Valley Resort has always sought to be ?better.? Opened in 1981 as an intimate affair, the Resort has expanded since then, but has remained focused on retaining its open, inviting and uncrowded environment. Last year?s addition of the new Lady Morgan Express chairlift and nine new ski runs on 200+ additional acres has been a huge draw to both new and returning ski guests.
?Opening up the Lady Morgan section of the mountain last season has truly rounded out our mountain experience,? says Bob Wheaton, Resort president and general manager. ?Although we opened up a new chairlift and nine new runs, we kept our skier cap of 6,500 tickets sold per day. So, we have more room and fewer skiers and our guests love the new area. And the proximity to the Empire Canyon Lodge for lunch makes it really convenient. Some guests are spending their entire day on that side of the mountain, skiing Empire Canyon and Lady Morgan exclusively. There?s that much terrain to explore. Sixty-five of the 200+ acres we added las...
