If you are traveling by, why not stop by Moap Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Uinta Mountains. Moap Lake is a location that is relatively dehydrated frequently; May is the month that gets the most rain while February is usually the driest month. This place, Moap Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors fun stuff. If you came for an overnight stay Paradise Campground is a glorious spot to camp; why not take a refreshing hike along the Uinta Highline

Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Uinta Mountains. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Uinta River, and Gabbro Pass is another great place to check out nearby. A beautiful lake like Blue Lake next to Moap Lake is a splendid site to take a look at, and sites like Blanchett Park are pleasant to have a look at. This lake is so wonderful. a great local campground.
During the warm days of summer highs here at Moap Lake get into the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; night lows in the 0's
for Moap Lake. A perfect nearby hotel is Best Western Inn, and do have a look at Red Belly Lake, it's a scenic lake. This lake is so wonderful.
So many cool things in the Uinta Mountains, just astonishing. Good hiking is available
along the Dry Fork Trail, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Moap Lake; Icy Hill Dugway is a great local trail.

 | That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that.... |
Chepeta Lake
| Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |
