This lake is so wonderful. Mill Pond is a great place to visit for more than one day, Paradise Campground is a great place to camp nearby; don't leave Mill Pond without first going for a hike along the Uinta Highline Trail. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do close to Mill Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Inn, and if you've had enough of Mill Pond, Dead Lake is close by. Having a glorious time in the Uinta Mountains is trouble-free.

into a kayak and hit Uinta River, and going for a hike on the Dry Fork Trail is always a glorious adventure. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Uinta Mountains. Go for a hike on the Icy Hill Dugway; a pleasant trip
to Julius Park is a fine way to spend an afternoon. Mill Pond is pretty dried up mostly; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month of the year is February.

 | That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that.... |
Chepeta Lake
 | 10 miles away Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |
