On a splendid day at Merkley Reservoir you can take a hike along the Dry Fork Trail; if you've had enough of Merkley Reservoir, Burton Reservoir is close by.                  Merkley Reservoir gets very little rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February.
