Medicine Lakes is right next door to La Sal Pass which is unquestionably worth visiting; Medicine Lakes is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Oowah Campground is a brilliant local campground. Medicine Lakes is in a delightful location in the shadow of the La Sal Mountains, and a great nearby hotel is Sorrel River Ranch Resort. Not much rain falls here at Medicine Lakes;       October is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. The vista of Mount Peale from Medicine Lakes is gorgeous, and if you need a site to stay Red Stone Inn is a fine choice. Be careful coming to Medicine Lakes, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Dolores River. Summertime highs at Medicine Lakes regularly tend to                  be in the 90's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Medicine Lakes are in the 10's.
