McDonald Lake is a location that is pretty dehydrated typically; March is when you get the most rain here; June is the month with the least moisture. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Gravel Pass is a glorious location to go to in close proximity to McDonald Lake; do take a hike on the Agua Canyon Connecting Trail. Cub Spring is an inspiring site to take a look at while you're here; hiking along       the Spruce Trail is perfect fun. This lake is so wonderful. There's always McDonald Lake Dam to visit next to McDonald Lake, and you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Bristlecone Loop Trail. Through the warm months at McDonald Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's; night lows in the 10's for McDonald Lake.
