Minnie Creek is a striking stream that is worth a visit, and not far from McDonald Lake you'll discover Castle Creek Reservoir which is a charming lake. This lake is so wonderful. Castle Rock is a good site to visit while in the neighborhood. There's so much to do here at McDonald Lake that you need to camp here for a while, MT. Ridge Motel and RV Park is a tremendous place for that. There's always McDonald       Lake Dam to have a look at in the vicinity of McDonald Lake, and the Bristlecone Loop Trail offers hiking at its best. If you need a place to stay Duck Creek Village Inn Motel is a fine choice, and you can never get enough of the delightful skiing at Brian Head. While staying at McDonald Lake you could always look at Gravel Pass, and there's good hiking along the Spruce Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A short journey to Cub Spring is always worthwhile,                  and you can stay the night at L and L. Through the long summer days at McDonald Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are generally in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the winter for McDonald Lake tend to be in the 10's. And that's not all you can do here at McDonald Lake. A wonderful close by hotel is Bunkhouse, and great hiking is available along the Agua Canyon Connecting Trail.
