Maple Bench Campground is a tremendous local campground, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Nebo Basin Trail. While you're here at Lower Pond you will meet lots of folks from nearby Provo-Orem. Lakes? Sure, Salem Lake is in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. Very charming scenery and good skiing is what you get at Sundance; dry warm beds await you at Springville       Days Inn. If the weather is wonderful here at Lower Pond, you can go for a hike along the Nebo Peak Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A good spot for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Lower Pond is Provo River; Lower Pond is a perfect location to visit for more than one day, East Bay RV Park is a perfect location to camp nearby. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Payson is a wonderful place to spend a night or two; close to Lower Pond you stumble                  on a golf course called Gladstan Golf Course. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lower Pond. While you're here at Lower Pond you can take a hike along the Summit Trail, and get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Spanish Fork. Lower Pond gets very little rainfall; April is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is July. A good place close to Lower Pond is Loafer Canyon; there are other locations here than Lower Pond, for example Grimes Pond. All through the summertime, highs frequently are in the 80's at Lower Pond. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's.
