Lower Grouse Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Uinta Mountains. If you need a place to stay SUPER 8 MOTEL - VERNAL is a tremendous choice. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful place for whitewater paddling in close
proximity to Lower Grouse Reservoir is Uinta River, and on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Uinta Highline Trail. Lower Grouse Reservoir gets very little precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's
the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Burton Reservoir, and a visit to Lower Grouse Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a
look at Burton Seep. At Lower Grouse Reservoir you always meet someone from Vernal, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Icy Hill Dugway. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to
the Uinta Mountains. Not far from Lower Grouse Reservoir, you'll locate Gull Lake which is a beautiful lake, and Whiterocks Campground is a tremendous campground nearby.

Little Elk Lake
 | 10 miles away That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that.... |
Chepeta Lake
 | 17 miles away Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |
