While you're here at Long Lake, you could also have a look at gorgeous Bowns Lake, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Aquarius Trail. At Long Lake you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. If you come at the right time of year, Fremont River offers some tremendous       whitewater, and Bowery Flat is right here at Long Lake. High temperatures at Long Lake through the months of summer are in the 80's, and the overnight is a bit colder of course, mostly in the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and overnight lows all through the winter for Long Lake tend to be in the 0's. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Capitol Reef Resort; Oak Creek Campground is a great local campground. Do schedule some time to                  explore Browns Point near Long Lake if you have a chance; Pleasant Creek Campground is a great campground nearby. Torrey-Days Inn Capitol Reef N.P. is a great place to get some rest, and the Stair Trail is a tremendous hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Long Lake without first paying a visit to Spruce Spring; while you're here you can take a hike along the Indian Trail. This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves.
