get yourself into a kayak and hit Blacks Fork - West Fork. At Little Lyman Lake all through the summer months highs are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are
in the 30's; overnight lows through the winter for Little Lyman Lake tend to be in the 0's. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Blacks Fork - East Fork; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at
close by Lyman Lake. The Uinta Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Around Little Lyman Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; through September this area sees the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
You absolutely should fancy the Uinta Mountains. There are great places to explore along the High Line Trail, and it's a great idea to explore Brush Creek.

Highline Trail
 | 18 miles away The U.S. Forrest Service last attention to this trail was in 1994/1995 and the trail markings in many places is all but non-existent. Portions of the trail---particularly in the meadows areas have been overgrown and rock cairn markers, where they do exist, are often overgrown and difficult to find. Do not attempt this trail without detailed terrain maps and GPS equipment and the ability to use both. It would also be a good idea to carry a satellite phone (rentals are available) as there is no cell phone signal anywhere along the route from the Mirror Lake trailhead on the West all the way to the Chepeta lake trailhead on the East... |
