I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Uinta Mountains. Blanchett Park is a pleasant place here at Little Elk Lake; Paradise Park Dam is striking. This lake is one of the great places here in the Uinta Mountains. It is very arid here at Little Elk Lake typically; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. So much cool stuff in       the Uinta Mountains, just impressive. The panorama of scenic Mesa near Little Elk Lake is great, and Little Elk Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Paradise Campground is a great local campground. The Shale Dugway is a great hiking trail near Little Elk Lake; whitewater paddling is great on Uinta River. Throughout the long summer days at Little Elk Lake highs are ordinarily in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The cold                  days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Little Elk Lake. So much entertaining stuff to do here at Little Elk Lake, too great to be true. If the weather is magnificent here at Little Elk Lake, you can go for a hike along the Icy Hill Dugway, and camping at Whiterocks Campground is always a great experience. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Inn is a glorious place to get some rest, and you'll locate a beautiful lake called Moap Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
