Little Elk Lake, Uinta Mountains, Uintah County, Utah     User input for Little Elk Lake, Uinta Mountains, Uintah County, Utah: Tom: That's a pretty tough road to get there.  I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks.  Great views though.  We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride.  We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too.  Good scenery up top.  I'd like to camp there and hang out.  We didn't fish.  It doesn't look really good for that. This lake is one of the great places here in the Uinta Mountains. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the Uinta Mountains has to offer. Little Elk Lake is right by the Dry Fork Trail. It is very dehydrated here at Little Elk Lake usually; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while February is mostly the driest month. Lakes? Sure, Dead Lake is       nearby, and the summit of Mesa can be seen from Little Elk Lake. Little Elk Lake is near Paradise Park Dam which is a pretty location undeniably worth going to; camping is available at Paradise Campground. At Little Elk Lake through the summer highs are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. Highs during the winter are typically in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Little Elk Lake during the winter typically plunge into the 0's. This lake                  is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Inn, and do take a hike on the Icy Hill Dugway. Little Elk Lake truly is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. Paddling on Uinta River is so much fun, and don’t forget to have a look at Blanchett Park since you're here at Little Elk Lake. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Uinta Mountains is great!
