So much entertaining stuff next to Lily Lake, simply extraordinary. Johnson Park is a wonderful place to stretch your legs a bit; you can go for a hike on the Icy Hill Dugway. And if that's not sufficient there's a lot more enjoyable things to do in the Uinta Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Uinta River, and at Lily Lake you can distinguish Mesa. This lake is so wonderful.

| | warm months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are commonly in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Lily Lake. The Uinta Mountains scenery is always beautiful. You're probably hooked on lakes, Johnson Lake is one of those close by, and don't leave Lily Lake without first going for a hike along the Shale Dugway.

to spend a night or two, and camping at Whiterocks Campground is always a perfect experience. Lily Lake is pretty arid frequently; May is the month that gets the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.
A pleasant spot to camp here at Lily Lake is Paradise Campground, and people from Vernal love to come here.
Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more cool things to do here in the Uinta Mountains. Lakes are nice; Watkins
Lake is a lake that's right next door to Lily Lake; there are magnificent spots to look at along the Dry Fork Trail.

 | That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that.... |
Chepeta Lake
| Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |
