Why not take a refreshing hike along the The Sheep Trail, and Residence Inn By Marriott Cottonwood Fort Union is a good place to get some rest. Lake Florence is usually a reasonably arid location; the wettest month of the year is usually April, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is July. There's some flowing water nearby, Elbow Fork is a stream you can stop at while you're here,       and Lake Blanche is a nearby lake that you could explore. That right there is plenty already, but it carries on; Lake Florence has it all. California National Historic Trail is a very pleasant place to have a look at in the vicinity of Lake Florence; a lake close by is Lake Lillian.
