There's so much to do here at Johansen Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Joes Valley Reservoir - Manti-LaSal National Forest is a perfect place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Gunnison Trail is always a nice adventure, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Hadden Holes. Go for a hike on the Chris Otteson Trail, and       whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend San Rafael River. Johansen Pond is typically a quite dry place; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Johansen Pond. Good hiking is available along the Blue Dugway, and the top of Black Hills is easily made out from Johansen Pond. Since you're here at Johansen Pond why not                  go to Cedar Hollow. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Johansen Pond has to offer, you can camp at Forks Of Huntington - Manti-LaSal National Forest. For the period of the warm days of summer at Johansen Pond highs are typically in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's.
