You'll need more than a day to explore everything Joe Lay Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Escalante State Park, and Lower Barker Dam is not far at all from Joe Lay Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. A spree to Gates Spring will fill your soul with pleasant feelings, and Joe Lay Reservoir is not the only spot close by, Lower Barker Reservoir is a close by lake. Joe Lay Reservoir                  is pretty waterless frequently; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most; January on the other hand is the driest.
