In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Uinta River, and Island Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Whiterocks Campground is a nice local campground. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff truly is plentiful here in the Uinta Mountains. Best Western Inn is a delightful spot to get some rest, and a pleasant site to camp here at Island Lake is Paradise       Campground. The Uinta Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. The Shale Dugway offers hiking at its best, and if you've had enough of Island Lake, Larvae Lake is nearby. It is very dried out here at Island Lake commonly; May is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is February. A pleasant place like Davis Park here at Island Lake is too tremendous to miss, and there's magnificent hiking along the Dry Fork Trail.                  If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Uinta Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Icy Hill Dugway. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Island Lake get into the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's; night lows in the 0's for Island Lake. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great globe it would be.
