It's always fun to stop by Island Lake. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Island Lake. There's great hiking along the Notch Mountain Trail; why not have a look at Fire Lake Dam if you're here. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Uinta Mountains. Camping at Island Lake is great fun, Lilly Lake Campground is a great local campground; dry warm beds await you at Strawberry Bay Lodge.

| | is a pleasant place to get some rest; get your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Provo River. So many cool things in the Uinta Mountains, just astonishing. If you came for an overnight stay Shady Dell Campground is a tremendous place to camp, and the Nobletts Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. Island Lake is located in the Uinta Mountains.

for a hike along the Smith Morehouse Trail. At Island Lake you don’t see much rain; throughout the month of April you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is July. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Island Lake.
Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are typically in the 30's while Island Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's.
