Island Lake is a location that is pretty dried out generally; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. Why not camp at Wandin Campground since you're here at Island Lake; there are good places to discover along the Shale Dugway. Throughout the summer months at Island Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down       into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and night lows at Island Lake through the wintertime regularly plunge into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Yellowstone River, and there are other places here than Island Lake, for example Bennion Lake. All year is a good time in the Uinta Mountains if you adore the outdoors. Camping is available at Hoop                  Lake Campground, and a tremendous close by hotel is Kountry Kabins. Any time is a good time at Island Lake if you love the outdoors. Go for a hike on the Dry Fork Trail; there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Uinta River. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Uinta Mountains. This lake is one of the great places here in the Uinta Mountains.
