     Good hiking is available along the Dairy Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Ferron Reservoir Campground is a great place to camp. Ferron Campground is a great local campground, and there's fine hiking along the Oak Belt Trail. Emerald Lake is a great lake close to Island Lake, and don't leave Island Lake without first going for a hike along the Harmon Trail. If you need a location to stay Willow Creek Inn is a good choice, and if the weather is gorgeous,  
   you obtain a magnificent sight of Block Mountain from Island Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Manti Motel is a magnificent location to spend a night or two; Henningson Dam is not far at all from Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Ferron Creek. Island Lake is regularly a relatively dried up place; most of the rain falls through March; July meanwhile
 
               is the driest month.
During the summertime highs here at Island Lake reach the 90's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Island Lake. So many fun things to do at Island Lake, so little time. Lakes? Sure, Blue Lake is close at hand, and Baseball Flat is a splendid place to stretch your legs a bit.
