Hourglass Lake is located in the Uinta Mountains. That right there is a lot already, but it keeps on going; Hourglass Lake has it all. Castle Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and don't leave Hourglass Lake without first going for a hike along the Nobletts Creek Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Uinta Mountains. A perfect nearby hotel       is Lodge at Stillwater; while you're here, you could also go to striking Big Elk Lake. At Hourglass Lake you don’t see much rain; the month with most of the rain is April while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Throughout the summer at Hourglass Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows at Hourglass                  Lake through the wintertime commonly plunge into the 10's. You can run the rapids of Provo River close to Hourglass Lake; there's fine hiking along the Littles Fork Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A great location to camp here at Hourglass Lake is Shingle Creek Campground, and do set aside some time for Erickson Basin while you're here at Hourglass Lake. Camping at Camperworld Knotty Pine is always a delightful experience, and Big Elk Lake Dam is a place that is near Hourglass Lake. So many cool things in the Uinta Mountains, just mind-blowing. Daniels Summit Lodge is a splendid place to get some rest, and you can go for a hike on the Smith Morehouse Trail.
