After a long day outdoors Salt Lake City-Days Inn Hotel is a pleasant place to spend a night or two, and what would winter be without some skiing at Snowbird. Little Cottonwood Creek is a brilliant whitewater spot near Hills Ponds, and Hills Ponds is not the only location close by, Green-Tanner Reservoir is a close by lake. Hills Ponds gets very little precipitation; of all the months in a year April is the one with the most       rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. If you get bored of Hills Ponds, you could also stop by nearby Mount Olivet Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. This is a popular place for people from Salt Lake City, and scenic scenery and fine skiing is what you obtain at Alta. Good hiking is available along the The Sheep Trail; Hills Ponds is a good location to visit for more than one day, Ideal Trailer Park is a good location to camp nearby. At Hills                  Ponds during the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Hills Ponds. Mick Riley Golf Course is a nice golf course close by; if time allows, California National Historic Trail is a national park worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Cottonwood Creek, and Camperworld is a good local campground. Now, you may believe that's a lot but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Hills Ponds.
